Day 3 ~ I am thankful for My Husband
24 Days of Thankfulness day three continues. I am so thankful for my husband – aka The Hubster. If you have never heard or read our story, it’s a doozie!! I am so thankful my husband is a man firm in his faith and full of the Holy Spirit. Otherwise…I’m not sure we would have just celebrated our 10-year Anniversary this past August. He is kind, loving, passionate, supporting, honest and faithful. He is the best man for me and God knew it!!
He is also the most loving and attentive father to our four beautiful children. Now that he has a more flexible job, each week he takes one of the three oldest (they rotate) with him to the office. They “help” around the church by doing things for him and the cleaning lady. He also takes them to lunch – their choice. It has been a really great way for him to connect with them one-on-one, since I spend day-in-day-out with them. Often times they even get to help him do the grocery shopping. Yes…he does the shopping! I’m not so good at paying attention to the sales & prices and he doesn’t mind – so it works! 🙂 They love spending time with him and I love watching their faces light up when they know it’s their day. I love how he plays with the kids – whether make-believe or wrestling in the floor. The laughter that spills out of my children when they are playing with him is music to my ears. It is one of my most favorite sounds in all the world!!
He is the most studious, Holy Spirit filled, loving, compassionate and caring minister. It has taken us a long time to get to this point, but I have no doubt this is exactly where we’re supposed to be. He spends so much time not only reading God’s Word, but dwelling in it. Really putting himself in the Word and asking the Holy Spirit to teach him. He is full of so much knowledge when it comes to God’s Word. I seriously don’t know where he puts it all!! I honestly thought it would be strange listening to him preach every Sunday, but isn’t – not in the least. In fact, I am in constant awe at the knowledge and the revelations that the Holy Spirit lays on his heart. I hear and understand God’s Word for the first time in some cases. It absolutely amazes me. I am so proud of how he really tries to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in even the smallest things.
I am one blessed wife!!!
