Welcome back to Day 2 in our Across the USA in 31 Days series. Every day this month I will bring you a small sample of printables from my larger eBook, which will be released later this month. I hope you will join me this month as we travel from state to state across the USA.
Today I thought we would go with our new home state, Indiana. Indiana joined the Union as the 19th state on December 11, 1816. Since moving here nearly 3 years ago, we have come to love where we live and minister as well as the people we are building relationships with here in southern Indiana. And their state flower, the Peony, is one of my favorites. In the spring you can see so many of these in the yards around town every year as they bloom. Plus they come in a variety of reds, pinks and whites too!
“The peony (Paeonia) was adopted as the state flower by the 1957 General Assembly (Indiana Code 1-2-7). From 1931 to 1957 the zinnia was the state flower. The peony blooms the last of May and early June in various shades of red and pink and also in white; it occurs in single and double forms.” source
Today you can grab these Indiana State Flower Coloring Pages. The coloring pages are available in print for the pre-writers, dotted manuscript for early writers and dotted cursive for upper elementary.
