Hello IAYD readers! This is Jessica from Jeca Creations back with another DIY. Today’s DIY came out of a necessity. Well, not a true necessity, just a “oooh! I like that” necessity.
Several years ago I was in Urban Outfitters (I love that place!) and found some really great phone stands. They were adorable but the price was not. It took me that long to realize I could just make my own.
*glue (E6000 works wonders, but hot glue can work with certain types of plastic)
*serrated knife or Dremel
Cut the head off of your animal. It helps to not look it in the eyes 🙂 You will need to cut it at/around a 90 degree angle. This will allow your phone to be viewable and not to sit completely upright.
The plastic on my hippo was pretty thick so I didn’t have a great cut. I plan on using my Dremel next time.
Glue your suction cup on to your animal. I used hot glue the first time. It worked great…for awhile. On the third time of using it the cup fell off. I decided to re-glue it with E6000 and it now works great. That glue is a miracle glue and one tube seems to last forever.
That’s it! Can you believe how simple that was??? These make great stocking stuffers for Christmas, yes I mentioned Christmas already.
These holders are great for all phones and it works for my iPad as well! I now have something to prop my phone up with while listening to Pandora or watching Netflix while I cook and bake!
