Some of you may remember my review of My Christmas Wish back in December. This was our second go-around with a daily Bible reading and journal. Our first was My Book of Thanks in November. Mister Bull is the only one old enough for these and it was slow going with the first one. He fought me a here and there on doing the work and reading. The second one we did through December went a little better. And now, he’s been asking for his next one!!
So I was beyond excited when Heather asked for a review of her newest product, God First Loved Us. This product comes out just in time for Valentine’s Day and couldn’t be more perfect as an add-on to your daily homeschooling. It is a 14-day Bible Reading and Journal that is designed to be used from February 1st – 14th, however, it can be used at any time to teach your children about God’s love!
Heather is so creative in her acronyms and ways of teaching God’s Word in a fun and interactive way. In God First Loved Us, she uses the acronym H.E.A.R.T.S. to outline each days assignments. Through handwriting, reading God’s Word, acting on what they’ve read, reflecting on what God’s Word says, prayer and sharing about God’s Word, children will grow to a deeper understanding of God’s love for them and God’s love for others in every area of their lives.
Each of these days is well thought out and organized. Showing God’s love is more than just being a “good kid” or “doing the right thing” and this 14-day devotional helps them understand that on their level. The hands-on activities are a great way to make God’s love tangible and give the children an insight into what God’s love has done for us – the cross – and what He continues to do for us on a daily basis.
This will be included in our daily activities and added to our homeschooling routine this February. Grab it now, so you can start with us on February 1st – that’s THIS SATURDAY…can you believe it? I’d love to know you’re joining us in this journey! Leave a comment to let me know!!
