While you’re out with friends and family today, I’d like you to take a moment to remember those who are away from their families. Those who are fighting for our freedom here in the U.S. Those who are serving our country with pride.
I am proud to say that I have three family members proudly serving in the military.
My baby brother, is in the Air Force and stationed in Okinawa, Japan. I’m so proud of him and all that he’s doing for our country!!! Today marks the 1-year anniversary of him leaving for his first post. I can’t believe it’s already been a year!!
My youngest cousin is in the Navy. He is currently deployed. I am so proud of who he has become. A Christ-centered man of integrity!!! He’s grown up a bit from the scrawny, little boy.
And this handsome man is now in the Navy. He is currently away at Boot Camp and just beginning his naval career. He just got married in May and left his beautiful new bride at home after only a few weeks!!!
Words cannot express how proud I am of my family members (past and present) serving in the military. I am the oldest grandchild on both sides of the family, so I have seen each of my cousins grow up and mature. It still amazes me that my brothers and cousins have grown into such amazing men (and women) of God. And to watch them follow their dreams – whether it be in ministry or the military – is simply wonderful.
I would also like to express my appreciation for the military spouses that stay at home and keep things running smoothly while your soldiers are away. It takes great courage to hold down the home-front. I am so proud of my sister-in-law who fully supports my brother and moved across the world for his Air Force career!! You are amazing!!!! And to my new cousin-in-law, you are simply awesome! Not only do you marry the man of your dreams, but you allowed him to follow a new career and leave you behind for 8 weeks. I don’t know how you all do it, but I am so impressed by you both!!!! Thank you for standing by my brother and cousin as they work to keep us safe and free!!
Blessings to you all on this 4th of July!!!
