This week’s wrap-up is going to be pretty sparce! We’ve pretty much finished up all our subjects. We had a little Science and Bible reading to finish as well as his last week of Review Words for Spelling. That was it!!! Needless to say, Mister Bull was beyond thrilled for the less than packed schedule.

It’s been an interesting week around here though. The Hubster took the lead on everything as I landed myself in the hospital last Friday night with this Crohn’s flair up. I was in the hospital until Tuesday evening! It has really taken so much out of me, that I find myself getting easily frustrated. So, I’ve had to really work on staying relaxed and calm for myself and the kiddos.

We did manage to plant one of our mini Greenhouse’s this week!! We decided to go ahead and plant the tomatoes and cucumbers. We don’t eat peppers and eggplant, so we passed on those for now. Mister Bull has the responsibility of keeping up with the “garden” and keeping them watered properly. So, hopefully between my gentle reminders and his excitement we’ll actually have some viable veggies in a few weeks/months. I’m really not sure how long they take to grow in this greenhouse thing. So…if nothing else…it should be interesting!

Here are some pictures from our planting experience! Enjoy!!

I found this on sale a few months back. So, we'll see how it goes!
Reading instructions before getting started
Mister Bull pouring the water for us - he did a mighty fine job too!!
After pouring the water, it was time to stir the dirt to mix it all up. Then, we poured in a few seeds to each pod. It was a little trickier than I thought, but we managed!
Finally we were able to put the lid on and set it outside to hopefully sprout some great veggies in a few weeks...or months.
What would a family project be without some adorable little "helpers"? Miss Priss came over to make sure we were all doing our "jobs" right. She weighed in just like she had a clue what we were doing!
Who could resist this cutie-patootie face?! Mister Mouse loved looking over my shoulder to "help" and weigh in where he could. We did let him pour some dirt in one of the pods though so he was thrilled!
Mister Bull showing off the soil packets in true Mister Bull fashion - mouth wide open! Sorry it's blurry, the child can't stay still for a millisecond these days!

My new favorite resource is the blog Free Homeschool Deals.com, hosted by Jamerrill of Holy Spirit Led Homeschooling. I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this site!!! I get the daily emails and go download nearly all the FREE books for Kindle. I seriously do this daily!! I think I’m addicted. And I don’t even have a Kindle! In fact, I loved it so much and was so excited about these deals that I downloaded the Kindle for computer version. I showed it to Mister Bull and he asks several times a day to get on here and read books. He loves looking through all the ones I’ve downloaded. It’s been a great way to sneak in some extra reading for him!!! If you haven’t checked out her site, you should. And if you haven’t checked out all the cool FREE deals for Kindle – you absolutely MUST!!!!

What did you do this week in your homeschooling journey? Feel free to share you favorite experiment, tip, idea or just a word of encouragement for others!!

Blessings,

Annette

  1. I love Free Homeschool Deals, too! I have “adopted” my daughter’s Kindle and download the freebies pretty much daily, too. 🙂

I love all of your pictures today — your children all have such wonderful smiles.

    Enjoy your holiday weekend!

    1. Thanks Marry!!! It’s a rather addicting site, is it not?! We’re getting a Kindle Fire for our homeschooling and I can’t wait!!!

Their smiles light up my day!!

      Enjoy your weekend too!

  2. Your mini-greenhouse seems like a fun activity 🙂

    1. We’ve already got some sprouts!! My oldest has been very diligent in checking it daily!! So far, so good!

      Blessings,
      Annette

  3. Gotta love the slower weeks and hubbies who will step in to help when you need them to :).

The greenhouse looks like fun, we tried to have one full of seedlings for our garden, but I killed all the plants by setting them outside too soon. Hope you have better luck :).

    1. Unfortunately, we had a tragic accident this afternoon with the greenhouse. Mister Mouse pulled off its perch outside and all our seeds and dirt went flying!! BUT…we’re going to get more potting mix and some new seeds and start again!! Hopefully this time we’ll have a better perch out of the reaches of Mister Mouse and Miss Priss!

It was a sad, sad day here, but we are recovering and moving forward! LOL
      Thanks for stopping by!
      Blessings,
      Annette
