As a blogger, there are so many details that you need to know and learn. Blogging these days is so much more than just writing what you feel and posting it on the web for all to read. Many people, like me, began blogging to keep family updated with pictures, stories and the happenings of our lives. This, of course, was before MySpace, Facebook, Google+ and a host of other social networks. Now days, many bloggers have grown their sites through these same social medias and have thousands of followers. So the next question becomes – How do I monetize my blog?
Monetizing your blog is a step in the right direction if you want to become a professional blogger. Monetizing simply means making money from your blog – doing what you love. But breaking into this world can be overwhelming and difficult if you don’t have the right tools. I have been working towards monetizing my blog for several months now, but found so much information on the web that I quit trying.
Most of the information was not easy to find and there were so much advice – some even contradicting – that I eventually gave up. Ever since, I have been looking for an ebook with the necessary information in an easy-to-read and easy-to-understand format.
Insert The Essential Guide to Successful Publicity Kits by Richele McFarlin. OH. MY. WORD. I am so glad I was directed to this ebook. This book was so easy to read that I finished it in one 30-minute setting. While it is full of invaluable information, it is not overwhelming. It balances the ease of reading with valuable information beautifully. Martin delivers the facts in a way that is easy to comprehend and apply to your blog – no matter the size. The information she arms you with gives you the confidence that you too can monetize your blog.
I think the most difficult part of creating my own media kit, was figuring out exactly what a media kit was. I did searches and found several definitions, but I was still left with questions and felt like the information I learned was still lacking. Martin has done a wonderful job outlining exactly what a Media Kit contains – both the must have’s and the optional additions. While I vaguely knew what a Media Kit contained, I really had no idea what a company would look for in a media kit. Martin does such a great job of explaining what companies are looking for and why you need to provide the information.
Even though I’m a Type-A personality, I do have a rebellious side. And just because someone told me to provide “x” to a company, I still want to know why. This ebook fulfilled all my expectations and more!! I was so pleased with this product, that I purchased her, Monkey See Monkey Do ebook as well.
Monkey See Monkey Do is a tutorial ebook for Picmonkey. Don’t know what Pickmonkey is? It’s an online photo editing site where I now go for all my photo needs. I use it to make images and overlays for everything you see on this site. I absolutely love it, but I know there is so much more it can do than what I know. I’m excited to dive into this book to make my images better.
I loved her books so much, that I joined her affiliate team!! Right now, Richele is running a special for 3 of her blogging ebooks.
