I love decorating for Christmas. It’s the one time of year I remember our house being completely decked out for a holiday. Decorating the tree was always my favorite part, because I got to see all my own ornaments and put them on the tree. It might have been eclectic, but they were so special to me. Several years ago my Mom gave us kids all our own ornaments to do with as we want. I love looking through them and remembering when I got them and from whom or when I made them. Such sweet memories.

We also love reading to our children especially during the cold winter days of December sitting around the fire. We love reading different stories of Advent, Christmas traditions and some fun favorites too. This is also a great time to talk to your kids about the True Reason for the Season – Jesus! We like to use our own Nativity set to teach our kids about the story of Jesus’ birth and then let them retell the story to help make it stick.
