Some kids are naturally creative, while it takes some prompting for others to get started. Writing prompts are a great way to get those creative juices flowing and encourage short story writing. {This was always my favorite part of school. I love to make up stories.}

Sometimes it’s fairly easy for me to come up with writing prompt starters and other times I struggle. But this time, the Spring ones kept flowing and I couldn’t help myself!! I probably could have come up with 50 prompts. But, I was satisfied with these, so I stopped.FREE Spring Writing Prompts

Isn’t Springtime just so refreshing and freeing? Especially after the long winter we’ve experienced across the country – I sure am ready to see some pretty flowers and nice green grass.

Hopefully your students will enjoy using these prompts to create and write their own short stories or poems.

This Spring Writing Prompt set includes:

  • 13 Spring themed writing prompts
  • A variety of short story prompts, poems and questions that promote sentence practice.
  • Available in manuscript (for young writers) and plain lines (for older students)
  • Extra lined pages in both manuscript and plain lines
  • Downloads available in Manuscript, Lined and Combo Pack (containing both Manuscript & Lined)

If you’re looking for some great readers to use while celebrating Spring, check out these great titles. Many are probably available at your local library, or you could get a Kindle version for most of them on Amazon. I love using my Kindle Reader app to read with my kids.
