A couple weeks ago I was nominated for the Sunshine Award! I was so honored, shocked and blessed to be nominated by a new blogging friend, Erin at Water on the Floor. We met through a blogging Facebook group and have never actually met in person. So you can imagine my surprise when I received word that she nominated me! Not to mention the “company” I was included with in her other 10 nominations!! It’s so amazing how God works and He knew I was feeling down and doubting what I was doing online. So this award and email came at just the right time. God is so good!!

So here are the rules for the award:
1 – Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you, which is Erin from Water on the Floor.
2 – Share 11 random facts about yourself.
3 – Answer 11 questions the nominating blogger has created for you.
4 – List 11 bloggers who you believe deserve to be nominated and recognized (my list is near the end of this post).
5 – Post 11 questions for the bloggers you nominate to answer and let all those bloggers know that you nominated them for The Sunshine Award. (You cannot nominate the blogger that nominated you.)

Even though I just did a post 20+ Random Facts about Me, here are 11 more:

1) I have a Bachelor’s degree in Music (piano and voice).

2) The one time I went snow skiing (with my high school choir), I came home with torn ligaments in my knee and could not dance in my Spring recital. 🙁

3) I am terrified – TERRIFIED – of horses. I love to watch them on movies and at the fair, etc. but I don’t know that I will ever get on one again. (I was thrown from a horse into a fence during college.)

4) I am also terrified of heights (but I went rappelling – it only took me 45 minutes to go over the ledge) and bridges (I often hold my breath going over them – as if that’s going to save me if it collapses).

5) Having gone gluten- & grain-free, I miss Macaroni & Cheese the most!

6) Even though I only began cooking 4 years ago, I want to master a gluten- & grain-free pie for the Holidays this year! 🙂

7) I could sit and listen to my husband preach/teach all day. He has so much knowledge of God’s Word and the Bible it literally fascinates me.

8) I enjoy reading books, but I have a hard time getting started on a new one.

9) I have been White Water Rafting where I bruised 2 ribs and was used as the “example” for how to rescue an overboard swimmer!

10) I have visited 27 states , Canada and Mexico (when I was 3 years old).

11) As a child I staked claim to all my belongings by signing my name on EVERYTHING in my room! 🙂

I know it said only 11, but I just have to say that I’m really not as accident prone as this list makes me appear! PROMISE!!! 🙂

Here are the questions from Erin for me to answer:

1) What do you feel your biggest strength is? I used to think organization was…until I had kids! Now, I’m not sure!

2) What is your favorite sport? To watch in person – baseball. To watch on TV – football (college, OU- BOOMER SOONER!!). To play – softball.

3) What is the best book you ever read? WOW!!! That’s a tough one. I couldn’t possibly narrow it to just one. I have liked different ones at different times in my life. I enjoy authors more than individual books though. I really liked “Things Worth Remembering” by Jackina Stark (one of my college professors). {affiliate link}

4) How many different countries have you traveled to? Canada on a school choir tour and Mexico (when I was 3 years old).

5) What is your favorite school subject? English/Grammar (yes…I know…I’m weird!)

6) If you could be any profession, what would you be? In days gone by I would have loved to be a ballerina. Now, I would probably love to be a Music professor at a college.

7) What is your best childhood memory? Having lost my Dad 15 months ago, I treasure any memory with him in it!!

8) What 5 things you would take with you on a deserted island? My Bible, a blanket, my husband (he’s pretty resourceful), a book of matches and sunscreen.

9) What is your favorite month of the year and why? If I had to pick just one, I’d choose December. I love Christmas time and all the decorations, parties, family time and the possibility of snow! 🙂

10) How long have you been blogging? Consistently I’ve been at this for almost 2 years!! 🙂

11) What kind of car did you have as your first car? White, 2-door Sunbird. Oh how I loved that car!!

  1. Annette…wow…it’s neat to learn more about you. What we have in common: I like to be organized too and found it easier to do as my children got older, I love to watch baseball and football live and on TV (Go Dodgers and 49ers!), I would take my husband on a deserted island (he’s so smart), and I’ve been blogging for over 2 years now, too. I also have been to Mexico (several times) and sang in my high school choir, too. How fun to learn more about you. Thank you for sharing and for the award. Blessings.
