If you missed our Pre-Primer Easy Readers series, be sure to check it out here. A while back in my Thrifty Homeschoolers Facebook Group, I was asked if I knew of any word searches that dealt with just sight words. I did not, so I decided that after releasing all the pre-primer easy readers, now would be the perfect time to make some of my own!
I have always enjoyed word searches, so I may be a little more giddy about these Sight Word Word Searches than most. Word searches are calming to me. I love finding the patterns and words hidden in a large puzzle. How that is relaxing, I don’t know, but for me it is. So far none of my children find them as inviting as I do, but they might grow in to them.
When I sat down to create these Pre-Primer Sight Word Word Searches, I made them super simple – on purpose. There are no diagonal or backwards words, only words that read left to right and from top to bottom. Also, there are not a lot of extra letters, to make it easier for little ones to find the sight words.
This set includes 7 different word searches to coordinate with the seven different sets of readers I released in the series. Each word search also includes an answer key with the answers highlighted in red.
What is in this set?
- 7 Word Searches based on the 7 sets of Easy Readers
- An answer key for each word search
How to use these word searches?
These word searches are designed to be used with the Easy Readers series. There are seven word searches that coordinate with the seven sets I released for the Pre-Primer Dolch Sight Words. You can use these as a weekly review with your budding reader or you can use them as a review of the entire list once you have completed all the words on the Pre-Primer list.
