We are beginning our second full week of the Across the USA in 31 Days series. Every day this month I will bring you a small sample of printables from my larger eBook, which will be released later this month. I hope you will join me this month as we travel from state to state across the USA.
Traveling just a few states over to the midwest again, we find ourselves in Kansas today. Being from Oklahoma, we traveled to Kansas more times than I can count. After all, the border was literally just 90 minutes from my home! Most people know and think of Kansas City when you mention Kansas, but there is much more to the state than the bustling city. There are miles and miles of farmland and rows and rows of sunflowers in September as the flowers bloom. So it’s no surprise the sunflower is the state flower. Native Americans used the sunflower for food production as journaled by Lewis and Clark. It is now used as both food and oil production in the United States. And if you’re like me, you love to munch those sunflower seeds!
Today you can grab these Kansas State Flower Coloring Pages. The coloring pages are available in print for the pre-writers, dotted manuscript for early writers and dotted cursive for upper elementary.
