I was so excited when I found this Beginner Violin program on Educents. I will be honest, at first I was reluctant about this program. I learned to play the cello…ahem, a few years ago…and in person. It was vital to my learning that I had a teacher who was in the room to personally correct me and help me improve. I wasn’t sure just how well this CD, video-led teaching would work. But, when the opportunity came for me to review this product, I was all in.
For months, Miss Priss (6) has begged to learn how to play the violin. The only problem was that we lived more than 45 minutes from a quality teacher and there was no way we could travel that distance each week, especially since I wasn’t sure she would keep it up or even like it. And I’ll tell you what…its a good thing we didn’t go that route. Mister Mouse completely surprised us and began begging to do violin with his sister. I was so surprised. He is reluctant to do anything and I wasn’t sure where to start with him, but he has picked up the violin so easily and he’s doing really well!
My children have really enjoyed this program and my 7 year old, Mister Mouse, is getting better each lesson! Here’s a quick video of him practicing with the CD/Teacher.
