Can you believe we’re starting a new year already? This past year just flew by for me and my family and we received many blessings, which I can’t wait to share with you in my annual Top Posts of the Year next week – so keep your eye out.

Today begins our Across the USA in 31 Days series. Every day this month I will bring you a small sample of printables from my larger eBook, which will be released later this month. I hope you will join me this month as we travel from state to state across the USA.
First up…Alabama. Although we won’t necessarily be going in alphabetical order, we are starting at the beginning today. This southern state is rich with history from the Civil Rights era and beyond. Alabama became the 22nd state when it was inducted in to the Union on December 14, 1819.
Today you can grab these State Bird Coloring Pages for Alabama. The state bird is the Northern Flicker or the “Yellowhammer”. You can have the kids color one of the pictures while you read more about this bird. The coloring pages are available in print for the pre-writers, dotted manuscript for early writers and dotted cursive for upper elementary.
