We are beginning our second full week of the Across the USA in 31 Days series. Every day this month I will bring you a small sample of printables from my larger eBook, which will be released later this month. I hope you will join me this month as we travel from state to state across the USA.

Traveling to the bayou we'll find the beautiful Magnolia, the state flower of Louisiana. Read more about it while you color along with these FREE printables! :: www.inallyoudo.net

Let’s head down to the Bayou today into Louisiana. I have driven through Louisiana several times and stayed a short weekend visit once. Sadly I didn’t see much as it was for a college visit with a friend, but what I did see what beautiful. I would like to visit New Orleans one day, just for the experience, but not during Mardi Gras – that’s a little too much “culture” for me. Louisiana was the 18th state admitted to the Union on April 30, 1812. Louisiana is the only state that has parishes, similar to counties. The upper and eastern part of Louisiana was included in the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. Prior to the purchase, it had been both a French colony and for a brief period, a Spanish one. Surprisingly, Louisiana has more Native American tribes than any other southern state.

Today you can read more about the Louisiana State Flower Coloring Pages. The state flower is the magnolia and during the summer you can see thousands of them blooming across the state. The magnolia have very large and creamy white blooms that emit a very rich fragrance. The magnolia tree is also an evergreen, which grows year round. The coloring pages are available in print for the pre-writers, dotted manuscript for early writers and dotted cursive for upper elementary.
