I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted about the Daily Bible Reading Challenge. Honestly, I’ve slacked off and gotten out of routine with this. So this month, TODAY, I am recommitting to reading my Bible daily.
The past few months I have been pretty sick and doing my best to just “make it through the day” without any major catastrophes. But, that is no way to live. In fact, I realized that attitude had taken over my life and pretty much gave me license to act the way I was – irritated, frustrated and generally cranky. Frankly, I have been downright mean. I have snapped at my children and husband when it wasn’t warranted. I have been short when speaking on subjects that irritate or frustrate me.
In short…I’ve not been Christ-like to those around me.
And I’ve been miserable because of it. So today that changes. I am refocusing my heart on Christ. I am recommitting to my “no more yelling” attitude. And I am doing it by committing to reading in God’s Word daily.
Any mother will tell you this is no easy task. It takes real effort and planning to have time by yourself to read and really dwell in God’s Word. But they will also tell you – it’s totally worth it!!
I hope you will join me in this challenge and start today by reading in your Bible. I have created a simple, easy-to-follow, Daily Bible Reading Schedule for April. You are welcome to simply download the file for your personal use (pdf and jpg options available). But you are also invited to join our Facebook group where I hope to discuss our daily readings, give each other encouragement, post questions and engage in discussions related to our daily reading. This community is also committed to lifting each other up in prayer as we walk through this journey called life together – as Christ followers.
