I’m gonna level with you…arts and crafts scare me. Literally. As a child, apparently I enjoyed them greatly. However, somewhere along the way I began to realize the need for things to be perfect and the joy of creating subsided. Add in four kids with that and they just literally stress me out. But, I’m working on it, because I have two very artistic and creative girls.

These Artists Notebooking Pages are perfect for studying not only famous artists from our past, but new and upcoming artists as well! Filled with 90 templates to choose from! :: www.inallyoudo.net

Even though we’re not a very artistic family, I do want my children to appreciate art. I remember going to the museums back home in elementary school and I thoroughly enjoyed not only the art, but learning about the artists and how they created those amazing pieces. My dad was a very talented man and could paint or draw almost anything he saw. Occasionally on Saturday mornings, we would sit and watch the old PBS artist, Bob Ross, and I was captivated. Amazed that his brush and a few precisely placed strokes could create such beautiful landscapes.

Now that we homeschool, I want to be sure my children learn not only about art, but to appreciate it as well. We have taken several field trips to different museums and places that have art – all kinds. Next year, my oldest will officially be in 6th grade, so we will buckle down on research, which is when I love the use of notebooking pages. These notebooking pages are like the pre-cursor to note cards, which lead to research papers. Ahh…I love research papers. Yes…I know I’m weird.

These notebooking pages are designed to cover some of the famous artists of our past – Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Monet – and some more current artists – Georgia O’Keeffe, Andy Warhol. There are also blank notebooking pages that can be used to research and learn about upcoming new and local artists you might have in your area. One I would highlight is David Bowman, this month’s sponsor. He has some amazing artwork that is not only breathtaking, but also spiritual and moving.

This notebooking pack is a great way for kids to work on their handwriting while learning more about these artists. They can be added to any curriculum, story time or used as a stand alone unit. Feel free to use them any way you like, but please don’t share them. Send them here to get their own!

I love that you are sharing the world of art with your kids. In a world where everything is available at our fingertips, seeing the art in person is a valuable experience.

I love David’s Christ centered pieces. I would love “Peace” or “My Child” for my oldest, she is a teenager and going thru some rough emotional trials of her own trying to figure out who she is and where she belongs. One of those would be a great reminder she is a cherished daughter of God.

Oh Christina, that is the one thing I am not looking forward to in the teenage years. I will keep her and you in my prayers and I think those two pieces would be WONDERFUL reminders!! Blessings.
