One way to celebrate the end of the homeschool year is with printable homeschool certficates. These give your students something tangible they can see and hold on to while showing the progress they are making in their learning journey. In addition to this idea, there are lots of other end of the homeschool year celebration ideas – many of which I’m sharing below.
End of the Homeschool Year Celebration Ideas
Homeschool families have such liberty when it comes to educating their children and how they choose to celebrate the end of the year. If you haven’t thought about making it a big deal, I encourage you to do so and make the most of it. Homeschooling is not only a privilege but also an exciting journey, all the more reason to celebrate a year of hard work. Below are a few celebration ideas to consider using for your homeschool.
Share and celebrate growth milestones.
This doesn’t have to be anything fancy. In fact, you can do it pow wow style and have everyone stand or sit in a circle. Each person will get a turn to share things they learned, their favorite moments, and even their not-so-favorite moments learned during the current school year. After each person shares, compliment and celebrate their growth and progress.
Create a memory or fun moments collage.
If you’re like me, then you most likely take lots of pictures. These pictures can be used to make a collage of field trips taken, projects completed, experiments tried, and the like. This is something each child can do individually or you can do all together as a family. Once the collages are complete, hang them on the wall as decor for my next suggestion.
Have an end-of-the-year party.
Chances are you’ll have one of these if you are part of a local homeschool group. If you are not part of a group who plans to have a party, you can host one yourself. It’s fun celebrating with other homeschool families but it can be just as fun celebrating with your own family. Visit your local teacher store (or the Dollar Tree) to find unique decorations for your home school. And don’t forget the games!
Create your own traditions.
With the help of your children, consider creating your own end-of-the-year celebration traditions. This can be anything from making countdowns to summer, having a field day, or taking a special family trip. The possibilities are endless! Ask your children for ideas and have everyone decide on a few things that will become something you do at the end of each homeschool year.
Celebrate with Printable Homeschool Certificates
Using homeschool certificates is the perfect way to mark the end of a school year and some free printable award certificates for you! These beautiful awards help make celebration fun and personal. There is one for each grade (K-12) so you can print exactly what you need when you need it. There are also two styles – one for boys and one for girls! Grab them below!
Have Preschoolers? They can celebrate too!
I know not everyone does preschool at home, but if your kids are like mine, they love “doing school” with the older kids. And that includes celebrating them too! That’s why I created the Preschool Year End Certificates for both K3 and K4 ages! Whether they’re learning through play or using workbooks, your little ones will love being recognized as they complete another year of learning!
Other Ideas
In addition to using my free certificates, you can also find certificate templates online. Homeschool parents often use a variety of educational resources to make their own certificates. With a little construction paper, markers, glue, and glitter (okay, maybe not the glitter), you can create some pretty awesome homeschool award certificates! And don’t forget to give yourself a teacher appreciation certificate. You, of course, are a big reason why your homeschool works!
Final Thoughts
Making the end of the homeschool year a big deal should be easy, fun, and exciting. Use my free printable certificates to have your own ceremony, party, and/or whatever else you want to do. This is a great way to end one year and prepare for a new one!
