During the Elementary years, we focus mainly on reading, writing and math. That may sound simplistic, but we want to make sure they have a solid foundation before we add in other subjects. We choose to learn geography, science and history more organically.
However, as we’ve been learning about maps and talking about places we would like to visit around the world, my kids kept mentioning European countries. So I decided I needed to finish my geography units, starting with the Northern European countries.
While this is not a complete unit study on Sweden, I think simply adding some additional reading resources and possible a recipe or two and you will cover just about every subject. If your kids love fun facts, I found these interesting about Sweden.
In this study your students will be introduced to the native language (links and flashcards provided), different maps of the country to label waterways/rivers, counties, main cities, fact files, as well as notebooking pages for recording other geographical & government facts.
Included in this Set
- 41 total pages
- Alphabet & Vocabulary Flashcards
- 40 Vocabulary Flashcards
- 3 labeled maps for studying
- 4 blank maps for labeling
- Fact Files & Notebooking Pages
- 4 Fact File pages
- 5 Notebooking Pages
If you’re like me, you’re probably worried about knowing how to say the correct pronunciation of the alphabet. Have no fear! I have included links to videos in the unit to help you get a feel for the pronounciation. I found a couple of really good videos to help with the basic alphabet (vowels and consonants), as well as common vocabulary words.
