South Korea Unit

Can I be honest? I don’t ever remember studying South Korea, or any other countries for that matter. I remember studying what countries were where and about the different continents, but I don’t remember actually learning in detail about the countries themselves.

That is one reason I have decided my kids will learn more about the different countries of the world. And of course, I thought we should start with South Korea. Why, you may ask? Because of that 2018 Winter Games coming up in February of course!

I having been planning a world geography study for a while now and I’m so excited to finally start sharing it with you! This unit is a great starting point and can be combined with any world geography study for a complete curriculum.

This unit can also be combined with printables specifically geared toward the 2018 Winter Games to make a complete unit. I have some fun general winter printables that include many of the sports in those games, so be sure to check those out as well.

I know what you’re probably thinking, we don’t know Korean, how will we know if we’re saying the alphabet correctly? I found a wonderful YouTube channel that gives simple and easy bite-sized lessons for Korean. You can watch lesson by lesson here to learn about the alphabet or learn some fun phrases here on their channel. I watched the first lesson and found it easy to follow.
